A growing body of research points to the role of midwifery in reducing c-section rates and improving the numbers of babies who breastfeed. With your support, we will bolster our efforts to empower women and their families to make informed decisions about pregnancy and childbirth. Beyond our work educating the public and health care professionals about the benefits of midwifery, we are actively engaged in more fully integrating midwives into the health care system, helping rural midwives gain hospital privileges and introducing midwifery to communities, particularly those in rural areas, that don't yet have them. We are especially committed to finding models of care that best work within individual communities.You can show your support for midwifery by sending a letter to your MLA, the Minister of Health, and the Premier letting them know you want more midwives in our province.
