Midwife in Dubai

Dubai Health Authority is having a Health Regulation Department, which is majorly responsible for the regulation of midwifery practice in Dubai, UAE.  Midwives are offering special care for women especially during their pregnancy period. Their average salary in Dubai is approximately AED 144,000.

A midwife is generally trained by an experienced midwife and they also known as a lay midwife. And the Lay-midwives and Licensed Midwives are very different from Certified Nurse Midwifes (CNMs), which are advanced registered nurse practitioners who specialize in midwifery. The duty of every midwife is to observe and apply the relevant standards of professional practice to their own practice. And in making decisions, midwives must actively engage in continuous self-assessment and self-regulation to ensure continuing competence to practice.

Main Domains of Practice

1. Comprehensive Care to women and the new-born

2. Professional, Legal and Ethical Practice

3. Professional Development and Direct Patient Care

4. Quality Improvement and Collaborative Healthcare
