Midwives Association of British Columbia Celebrates International Day of the Midwife, Plays an Integral Role in Maternal Care
British Columbia has experienced the highest rate of midwifery-involved maternity care in Canada with over 400 practicing midwives across the province (27%)
This Thursday, May 5th, the Midwives Association of British Columbia (MABC) is proud to celebrate International Day of the Midwife with midwives and midwife-allies from around the globe. Midwives in British Columbia play an integral role in closing the gap for families seeking healthcare services and are critical in delivering accessible, culturally safe, and effective healthcare. B.C. midwives provide primary maternity care to over 10,000 families a year across the province.
