The Midwives Association of BC affirms our solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en Nation. The MABC is committed to the Truth and Reconciliation’s Calls to Action and the United Nation Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. We are committed to life-long learning, examining racial-bias and taking anti-racist, anti-colonial action. As an association we strive for renewed relationship with Indigenous people that is based on transparency, mutual understanding and respect.

The Midwives Association of BC would like to thank the National Aboriginal Council (NACM) for their leadership and we would like to share and endorses the following statement made by the NACM: https://indigenousmidwifery.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/SolidaritySatementWet%E2%80%99suwet%E2%80%99en20200219Final.pdf

We stand with water and land protectors. No reproductive justice without environmental justice.
