Amazing things happen when the right combination of people get together.
Three ambitious local business women are changing the options available to growing families in Dawson Creek. Bloom Family Wellness Collective was created by Sonje Juul a registered midwife and owner of Dawson Creek Midwifery; Sydney Feddema a postpartum doula; and Chvonne Hutchings a prenatal educator. The collective came from a desire to bring quality care providers together to better serve growing families in the Dawson Creek community.
“Bloom strives to provide a continuum of care from pre-conception through pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum. In doing so, we provide supportive care to mamas and their families throughout this journey” says Hutchings. Collaboration at Bloom centers around a common philosophy about birth and postpartum, as well as the overall wellness of women and their families.
In September 2017, Juul, Feddema and Hutchings began to imagine a group of practitioners and service providers working together towards a collective vision, and in January 2018 Bloom Family Wellness Collective was ...born.
“Bloom Family Wellness Collective practitioners and associated service providers believe in the power and strength of women’s bodies to conceive, bear and give birth to healthy babies. Our goal is to support women and their families in all ways possible to achieve the pregnancy, birth and transition to parenthood that they imagine,” says Feddema.
According to Juul, they work closely with other practitioners and service providers in the Dawson Creek area to ensure that birthing women in all stages of pregnancy and postpartum are aware of services that could aid and assist them in having a healthier pregnancy, an easier birth. Bloom Family Wellness Collective was conceived from a desire to build a tribe of service providers through supporting individual businesses and collectively provide support, services, programs and events to the growing families of Dawson Creek. Bloom is located at 205-833 102 Avenue in DC.
