Advanced Education Minister Andrew Wilkinson, back, announces $680,000 in funding in Vancouver on Wednesday for a program at the University of British Columbia that will help internationally educated midwives become fully licensed to practise in the province. The new program at UBC will accept eight first-year students a year starting in January, 2016. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the Canadian midwifery registration exam.
